Tasting and dinner at Wyndham Residences

The Algarve Wine Society resumes its program of events after the summer break with aspecial dinner event on Wednesday September 16th - 6:30pm at Wyndham Residences Alvor Beach. Located at Praia de Alvor, Rua do Barinel, Portimao, 8500-053.We will be tasting wines from Figueirinha. The estate was established in 1998 byCommander Leonel Cameirinha, Sociedade Agricola do Monte Novo e Figueirinha. Today itis under the management of his grandson Cameirinha Ramos. It is a family businesslocated in Beja, in the heart of Alentejo, which unites three generations around rich clayeysoils and a temperate climate that contributes to optimal fruit ripening. There are morethan 300 hectares of excellent quality land where the buildings that house the Winery andLagar stand.

We will be tasting five different wines, a sparkling, two whites, one red and a moscatel withdessert, which will be presented by our local Sommelier Candace Olsen. She earned herCertified Sommelier accreditation through the American Sommelier Association, furtherhoning her expertise through the International Culinary Institute Wine Program and WSET.Although the excellent Figueirinha Olive Oil is on sale in some markets, the wines are notso readily available in the Algarve, and we are lucky to have the opportunity not only totaste these wines but to have a local expert introduce them.We will have delicious dishes which will be paired perfectly with the wine presented.See the enclosed menu for details. Due to the scope of the event this is a set menu butet us know if you have concerns regarding allergic reactions.

Members and guests will be able to buy and take away any of the wines at the end of theevent, with payment by cash or card.The cost of the event will be 70 euros for members and 75 euros for guests. Priority willbe given as usual to members for the first two days (48 hours) after the flyer goes out.No guest places will be confirmed for the first 2 days after the flyer goes out.Cancellations received up to 7 days before the event (i.e. up to and including Sept. 8th) will receive a full refund.After that date we cannot give refunds. If you are traveling from a distance and prefer to stay overnight the Wyndham ResidenceHotel is offering rooms for 220 euros, which includes breakfast. There is a 2 euros touristtax per person.
